scantilly have done it again, you guys. they continually blow me away by creating such amazing designs specifically for DD+ busts which is why they’re easily one of my favourite lingerie brands. censored is no exception to this.
censored caused a fair bit of conversation on social media when it was posted on the brand’s social pages – it seems to be a bit like marmite where you either love it or you hate it! but regardless of your feelings about this set, there’s no denying that having something like this as an option at all for fuller busts is amazing.
the bra is constructed with bold caging detail, inspired by the censorship bar which cheekily covers your nipples. despite the barely-there look, the cups do feature a very sheer ‘nude’ mesh in the bottom cups so your bust will be lifted and supported. the only downside to this is that it’s a pale beige tone, so won’t blend in as much against darker skin tones but i can fully appreciate why they had to include it (heavier breasts would just not be supported at all by the thin strips of satin binding!) and due to manufacturing costs i can imagine it would’ve been far too expensive to run it with alternate ‘nude’ tones, which is a shame but again, understandable to a point. the ‘censor bar’ is made of a soft satin, connected to the cup (the mesh is attached to this on the underside) with a fold over design that does allow for slight movement.
i took my usual scantilly sizing of 30FF in this style (sister sized from my typical 28G) and find that it runs true to size – though the satin binding on the band prevents the mesh from stretching quite as far as it could, so it does have a snug fit. if you’re between sizes or prefer a bit more room in the band, i’d recommend taking the larger band size or using a band extender until it wears in a little. i found it most comfortable on the middle hooks (while i’d normally wear a 30 on the tightest straight away), though after a couple of wears it loosened up and i could tighten it to the last hooks (remember – new bras ideally should always start on the loosest hooks when they’re a proper fit, and not sister sized like mine!)
with the cups, it’s the same. the bottom part offers surprising comfort and shape, while the top sections are open but not very stretchy – so if your boobs are full on top, you might want to try a cup size up to prevent the strapping digging in too much. i have quite an evenly full shape and find it only digs in slightly, but it is not uncomfortable or unsightly. the wires fit well around my breast tissue and tack perfectly at the gore, and trace my breast root perfectly. i’m honestly surprised by how much support i get from this bra! don’t let the appearance fool you, it packs a punch.
there are two brief options – a high waist and a thong. i tried both out, but my favourite was the thong both for comfort and just my general style preference. the high waist is styled in soft black mesh with a full coverage shape, with a satin front panel and caged cut-out detail matching the bra. there’s an extra strap that joins at the top of the brief, fastening around the waist with a tiny little swan hook at the back. i found it kept twisting while i was wearing it, but it didn’t cause any major issues – just annoyance in terms of looks!
the thong is super slinky, with bold cut outs and another nod to the censorship bar. there’s no mesh in sight in this cheeky number, so you’ll have to dare to bare! i found it fit well, but do note that the construction of it is primarily a satin fabric that has minimal stretch. in both options, the size small (8-10) fit perfectly on my 8-10 frame (and a bum that sometimes borders a size 12!)

the entire set is complimented by the signature scantilly rose gold hardware – petite ‘s’ charms, sliders, and bow shaped accents at the joint of the straps. this certainly isn’t a set for the faint hearted, but i do adore the confidence it gives me. i truly feel SO amazing in this set and i just love it. it embodies the scantilly brand entirely – fearless, bold and sexy lingerie that makes you feel amazing! at £49 for the bra and £22-28 for the matching bottoms, it’s right in line with scantilly’s usual pricing and for the technical features that have gone into making this work for DD-HH cups, i can fully appreciate the price point.
