today’s review is one i’ve been sitting on for a while and just haven’t had time to get around to writing it! the gorgeous isla set from rougette by tutti rouge is the perfect blend of everyday and sexy, with enough detail to keep it feeling luxe despite the cheaper price point.

if you’re a regular reader of my reviews you’ll know by now that as a 28G, i have to sister size to fit into rougette but for those who may be new or not familiar with my sizing, i’ve taken this set in a 32F (same cup volume, looser band) and small for the brief. this set covers a great range of sizes, going from a 32 band all the way through to a 48, and it’s available in D-G cups.

the bra is a simple moulded balcony shape, seamless and comfortable with a thin foam lining. the cups are fashioned in a ‘nude’ tone that’s almost like a rose gold hue, and has a slight shimmer to it. they’re then overlaid with fishnet, and then with mesh slings on the outer edges. the back band is styled in a gated fashion to give a caged, cut out look that’s sexy while still remaining supportive and comfortable. the isla bra is finished off with gold hardware and, as always, the signature heart shaped sliders which are just TOO cute! it fits as expected, the cups contain my breasts well and give a good uplifted shape without being too in-your-face, perfect for a little everyday boost. due to the fishnet overlay it isn’t completely smooth so not ideal for under your tight fitted shirts, but it does make a great day to day option for when you want a bit of sass under your clothes. the 32 band fit my usual 28 band frame well when fastened on the tightest hooks, and i will look into taking the band in so it fits me better, as i feel it will stretch out quite quickly with regular wear since it’s just two strips of elastic.

the brief is gorgeous in all-over fishnet with an opaque lining in the front centre panel, but was unfortunately a bit of a weird fit on me. size wise, in a small it was spot on for my usual 8-10, and they sat really nicely to the front, but i found the strapping detail at the back just would not lay flat on me at all. i’m not sure if it’s because my waist is quite drastically smaller than my bum and knickers on me tend to get ‘eaten’ a bit (hence why i generally prefer thongs and brazilians since they sit there anyway!) which created some slack in the strapping, but it was a little annoying. i can’t really wear the briefs on a day to day basis for this reason, unless i look into shortening the strapping considerably. it’s a shame as they’re so comfortable apart from that, and as soon as i put them on they look great! it’s only when i start moving around they shift and create this slack. i’ll probably try and shorten them the next time i dig out my sewing machine.

this set overall is another bargain from tutti rouge, coming in at a total of £30 (£20 for the bra, £10 for the brief). because of this the quality of the fabrics doesn’t feel quite as high as other brands with higher price points, but it does feel sturdy and well-made enough to hold up to regular wear. despite the odd loose thread on a new item, i’ve not yet had any issues in terms of faults with any rougette items and they’ve definitely been put through their paces so are well worth the money!
